It’s Official; I’m a Nomad now

What embarking on a Priestess Pilgrimage means to me

My word for 2023 was HOME.

What began as a year with high hopes of buying a house with my now ex-husband ended in…

  • Moving from the house I've called home for 9 years into a 10x10 storage unit

  • Downsizing my life into 2 suitcases, 2 backpacks, and 1 stuffed animal

  • Going dark on social media and canceling all of my in-person sessions for the rest of the year

  • Flying to Europe and renting a luxury womb-like goddess apartment (red lights and everything)

  • Officially claiming my “Eat, Pray, Love” Digital Nomad Era.

I'll still be popping back into Connecticut to see clients, friends, and family every few months, but for as long as it feels good — I'm on a Priestess Pilgrimage.

The intention of this Pilgrimage is many-fold…

  • To recalibrate my energy after being in long-term partnerships since I was old enough to date

  • To dive deeper into my soul's purpose as a healer

  • To fulfill a lifelong dream of visiting and learning from the sacred sights of the world

  • To stay open to the lessons, people, and experiences that unfold when you let go of the way you think like “should” look

First stop on the journey? Back to Slovakia for a month of rest, retreat, and enjoying the fairytale charm and festive holiday markets.

It might seem like a random choice and one that contradicts logic and the rational mind…

“Why not go somewhere WARM?”

“Why not go somewhere where English is widely spoken?”

Well here's the thing…

This decision doesn't make sense to my mind either.

But, it does make full-body sense to my heart.

I experienced such a profound activation and reset of my feminine energy during my month in Slovakia last summer that I simply had to return.

2 weeks into my 4.5-week trip and my mind is starting to make sense of WHY my body pulled me here.

  • The slower pace of life

  • The old-city charm nestled in the heart of snow-covered mountains mountains

  • The clean, modern luxury apartment I rented for a fraction of its regular cost (perks of off-season travel)

  • The peace and quiet of hearing the voice of my intuition

  • The space from social gatherings, seasonal hustle and bustle, and awkward family social interactions around the holiday dinner table

I feel like mySelf again for the first time in years

And I'm SO glad I didn't listen to my mind's chatter of doubt, anxiety, and fear of the unknown.

And look, I'm not here to discredit the importance of logic, rationality, and reason.

Our ‘thinking mind’ is what's kept our species alive for millennia.

However, in the age of information & technology, our internal processors can get overwhelmed very quickly.

The solution?

Engage in practices that help you to FREE from the chatter of the mind and drop into the body.

This is exactly what Breathwork does.

Breathwork is a somatic (body-based) practice that helps you liberate yourself from the constant noise inside your mind to access a place of inner peace and stillness within.

As my life turned upside down in 2023, Breathwork was a constant companion and ally for attuning to the next-most-doable step, even if it didn’t make sense.

Something truly powerful and ancient awakens in our being when we get quiet enough to hear the whisper of our soul.

In my experience so far, they will never lead you astray.

While I don’t know where this journey will lead me, I do know it will invite me to deepen my relationship with the word HOME.

What does it truly mean to be at home wherever you go?

Where have I been attaching my felt sense of home to external belongings, places, or people?

How am I being asked to claim my body as the safest and most welcoming home for my soul, no matter what life brings?

I’m learning as I go..

Thanks for being along for the ride, and for all the love, and encouragement.

Here’s to the road less travelled.

With love, Lydia xo
